Strategy is a word which is over used and often used in the wrong context. For Fripp Design and Research, strategy is all about gaining an unfair competitive advantage using the assets available to you in the best way possible.
Those assets are a combination of many things including, cash (and access to it), your people (remembering they are your most flexible asset if managed properly), your equipment (owned, begged or borrowed), your product offer (Real or Digital), your customers (direct and indirect) and you.
Fripp Design and Research live and breathe the world of Small to Medium sized Enterprises and use strategic tools which are relevant to these types of organisations. We use tools such as Porters 5 Forces and Value Chain, Ansoff Matrix, the Boston Matrix and the work of Minzberg's organisational structure in our own business all the time and it is these tools we use when working with our clients too (but explained in a common language that makes sense to you).
However strategy is pointless without measurable outputs and tactics i.e. the proposed strategy has to be deliverable with the assets and resources available to you. It is in this area were Fripp Design and Research excel because we practice what we preach, every day, in our own business too.
