Research, like the foundations of a house, underpins the whole design process.
By thoroughly researching every project we undertake, we greatly enhance the
finished design. Areas of research include:
- Safety Standards: For us, designing with safety in mind is always the priority; safety for the end user and every interim stakeholder who comes into contact with the design
- Form: In the competitive world we live in, how something looks and feels is as important as the functionality itself. A critical part of the whole design process is how the design is communicated to those who will receive its benefit
- Function: Communication through form needs to be backed up by functionality; how easy is it to use the design, how easy is it to make the design and how easy is it to service and maintain the design
- Target Market: Who the customers are and why they would buy the designed product is critical to the success of any design
- Materials: With new manufacturing techniques, we never limit ourselves to the traditional use of materials.
- Costs: When designing we constantly look at costs; such as materials, tooling, assembly and quality of components to name but a few
