Fripp Design and Research were approached by the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust to develop a new form of medicine storage and prescription distribution system specifically for hospital care wards.
The brief included several complex requirements and required consideration for security, hygiene, manoeuvrability, flexibility, space requirements, storage, cost and the complex systems and practices not only in current existence in hospitals but planned new systems such as "e-prescriptions".
A conceptual solution to this brief was developed using in-depth research and concept design.
The value of Fripp Design and Research's design development process, which relies on feedback throughout all design stages, was particularly clear during the delivery of this project as it provided the opportunity for clinical staff to refine the design and ensure that the final solution is fit for purpose in such a difficult environment. At the same time Fripp Design and Research were able to maintain control of the product itself ensuring it could be manufactured and maintained delivery of the brief.
