Fripp Design and Research were recently asked to submit their ideas to the Design Council for their "Colour Of Money" article
The idea behind the article was to question the current existence of the coin and too conceive an alternative physical representation of money; Fripp excelled and submitted 6 concepts, 2 of which were featured in the article.
The project was a great way for the Fripp designer team to stretch their legs and think of the "what if", not being constrained with the usual restraints of design for manufacture and the like.
The ideas submitted varied from the use of antibacterial materials to a smart design which prevents the stealing of money outright by rendering it useless to anyone other than the account holder. The project was a great experience for Fripp and we shall be taking part in future product design related articles without doubt.
